“Great atmosphere!”
“For desert the waiter recommended us the Chocolate moose that it was also great.”
“The white tablecloths covering closely-packed, old wood tables; waitresses with accents and up-turned noses; warm firelight ambience; boisterous crowds drinking wine -- it's all here.”
“tasty food”
“Everything on the menu is wonderful, and the restaurant's main space is great for leisurely chatting with friends for as long as you feel like staying.”
“Also, you don't have to dress up at all, yet it's a nice restaurant.”
“We will not go back, there are too many great places in Brooklyn to repeat this mediocre experience.”
“The staff was friendly, attentive and did not stress one bit.”
“suppose I shouldn't complain about the price -- French food in general, especially in NYC, is expensive.”
“After 40 minutes of waiting for our food, I asked the manager what was taking so long, and she responded that is was coming, in fact the waiter brought us our COLD food.”
A PARK SLOPE TREASURE.
I highly recommend checking out Belleville Bistro.
I have lived in this neighborhood for 11 years, and had been to Belleville in the past and enjoyed myself but something was missing.
BUT in the last year the chef has really stepped it up by tweaking the menu and bringing in his own management staff. This was the missing link.
Now, this place is not to be missed.
Consistently delicious - beautiful - fun & classy yet relaxed - it is always a memorable & special experience dining at Belleville. It never fails to impress my guests and they always want to return.
I feel extremely fortunate that our hood has this gem.
Check it out for yourself!
Great Night!. We had the best dinner ever here. Not only was the food fantastic, the service was also very accommodating. We even got to enjoy some fantastic music after dinner in the lounge. Really great time here, worth going... especially if they keep that prix fixe menu!
tasty food.
Waited although we had reservations, but the owner felt bad and sent us some free food.
Salad was uninspired just plain mesclun on a plate but the gnocci was creative as was the fish and the risotto. The chocolate mousse was yummy, the valhrona chocolate cake was fair. The service was good, attentive but not overwhelming.
food good, service lacking.
We waited more than 1/2 hour after we asked for dessert for it to be delivered (had already waited 20 min.after entree plates were cleared enoying wine before we asked). So we asked for it to go and they gave us 2 large containers--wow, we thought they were making it up to us and we added a few dollars to the 15% tip. When we got home, they had split one small piece in 2.
The food is always good but service is spotty.
Cozy, unpretentious bistro. This place is SOOOOOOO cute! The service is on point. The atmosphere is really charming. The food...DELISH!! Their wine selection is great and the pricing is definitely very, very fair. We left stuffed, happy and in total food coma!!!
Great French Restaurant in Park Slopes. The atmosphere, the meal, the prices.... There is something for everyone and...affordable too. We couldn't have asked for better service and a great meal.
LOVED IT!. Went with my mother and sisters - loved it! Food was delicious! Service was excellent! Great atmosphere! After a filling meal, we went and enjoyed music and drinks in the lounge. Will return and highly recommend!
Favorite Neighborhood Restaurant/Lounge.
The Belleville is, hands down, my favorite place in Park Slope for great food, drinks, and awesome, laid-back entertainment.
Everything on the menu is wonderful, and the restaurant's main space is great for leisurely chatting with friends for as long as you feel like staying. The staff has always made me feel welcome and part of the neighborhood.
The Belleville Lounge, right in back of the restaurant, also serves food and drink, plus has various storytelling and stand-up shows that are always very casual, personal, and a great way to spend an evening.
Kudos to the management and staff for running such a great operation.
Closed on a Friday night in the summer?!?.
I think it's in bad taste to close an entire restaurant on a Friday night in the middle of summer! I hope they're charging the people who rented it out a small fortune.
Very disappointed as I made plans with a friend to go there tonight, and now I will not have the opportunity to visit this restaurant in my neighborhood for a long time, if ever, mostly because I'm disappointed and skeptical.
Je suis très déçu, c'est inacceptable.
Wonderful food and service!. I really enjoy my time at Belleville. The food is delicious (the hanger steak is exceptional!) and the staff is very nice and friendly. Their prices are wonderful and I recommend the ever-changing pre-fix dinner. I spent my Valentines Day here and had a great time.
