Oh what a night !. Went to Savoia for the first time last Saturday night. It won't be the last time I go there! Went with the family to celebrate a birthday and in the group is my 96 year old grandmother. Our waitress was so attentive to her - made her feel so special. The food was wonderful. The portions were just right - not to small and not too big. Desserts were sinfully good. Please don't share this review with too many people. I want to keep it to myself but felt compelled to write about the wonderful evening.
Great Experience, Excellent Food and Service.
This is one of the best Italian Restaurant you will find in Brooklyn. If you're like me and you are willing to shell out on excellent food, this place if for you. The food is incredible. Don't fill up on the delicious bread and focaccia before you even order. The pizzas are delicious and the specials are always unique. The food would make any human being a fan of the Italian lifestyle and palate!
Try this place. You'll be here a lot.
Bad Bad service.
I use to eat here once a week, but not after tonights experience. I took my family here for Sunday night dinner and the service was so horrible that I can't get myself to go back. We pretty much waited 20 minutes in between anything, didn't have utensils when we already had our entrees, didn't get our entrees at the same time, was missing an entree so I pretty much watched my husband eat dinner while everyone else had already finished dinner, drinks came so late that we got our second round after dinner was over. Then to make it worse, the waiter never once apologized or acknowledged any mishaps. This was the worst service I think I have ever experienced by a waiter.
Savoia has decent food but sometimes if your mood is ruined and the waiters get you really angry , the food doesn't even matter. I just wanted to get the check and get out of there. I hope the owner knows that service matters and I def will not go back anymore. All they had to do is apologize for all the mistakes and even then, I would have felt better. I would maybe try to think that they were understaffed or try to think positive...but they left a pretty bad taste in my mouth. Beware of when you eat here and who serves you. You'll either think it's a decent place or leave downright angry.
great food!!!!!!!.
My fiance and I went here last weekend for dinner and absolutely loved it. The service was fantastic from the start.
Dinner was great. We had a cured meat plate and a margherita pizza as app and it was so delicious! For dinner I had the cornish hen and my fiance had a pork chop, both so yummy.
Our server was really great too. She went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We'll definitely go back there.
Good food, arrogant staff. The staff here are slow, rude and they don't take care of their clients. While it's probably some of the better Italian food around, I'd probably wait and starve first.
Best Pizza in Brooklyn. After moving to Brooklyn from Italy I was excited to see that Carroll Gardens had a sleuth of good Italian restaurants. After sampling the majority, Savoia was the only one that I felt was truly Italian. I was so excited to practice my Italian with the staff and they were all more than happy to hear my Italian stories and talk about food and wine. Speaking of which it was a pleasure to try several of there wines and learn a bit about each one from our waitress who was also very passionate about the subject. I had the fusili with pesto and can honestly say that it is the best I've ever tried and thats including my Italian friends homemade Grandma's pesto so it's no joke. I loved the rustic interior and soft ambience and their music is always full of my favorite songs. I may be biased as I've just come back from Italy but I feel like I'm back there when I go there and that makes me happy. The Pizza is the best in Brooklyn..just perfect.
Great food but overpriced..... And the brunch I had poached eggs with gnocchi and marinara sauce - not so good. the idea is good but the red sauce murdered the egg.
Great Food!. I love this place! The food is great and the staff go out of there way to make you happy! Try the lasagne.
Amazing Pizza. Fantastic restaurant. Service is sometimes messy and a bit slow when you're there but the food is worth it. That said, the staff is always friendly and fun. The pizzas are excellent and they let you customize the choices with what you want . I think our pizza orders alone are enough to keep them in business! Authentic and just plain good!
BEST!.
