“Great decor, affordable & tasty”
“The service was speedy I didnt have to wait long long for my order, the staff was friendly we held a conversation while waiting on the food.”
HORRIFIC.... HORRID... and UGHHH!!!.
Save yourself the headache..... the only good thing is that the portions are decent, not big, not small.
The Cons: I called in advance, showed them the time stamps of both calls on my cell to verify before I came that they still honor the restaurants dot com voucher of which you pay $10 to get a $25 dollar discount... got there... and after 10minutes of back and forth discussion, they STILL wouldn't honor it, even though they admitted it wasn't my fault. So you were just gonna let me waste my $10 without providing any recourse?????? SMH.
The place is uber-small, has no ambiance and no decor.... and as a female, I couldn't sit at certain tables lest I get a leg cramp. *I'm only 5'8 so good luck to you fellas taller than me*.
Then they have a sign that says you are allowed to take ONE after-dinner candy.... How cheap adn TACKY!!... I didn't see that til I had taken a few, a waiter says "Uhmm, do you wanna take all our napkins too?!?!?"..... Like, SERIOUSLY???? Rude to the max.
Everyone is right. The service is HORRID... hands down 1 of the top 3 WORST dining experiences EVER!!! The waitress empathized but the male w/ the dreadlocks was DREADFUL.... just RUDE.... why spend your money here????..... Uhhhh.... for NO reason at all.... go elsewhere.... trust meeeeee!!!
Nice Big B But. Live in the neighborhood. Nice spot but not available for solo dining on Sunday unless you want to sit at the bar. Get a grip on customer service.
Eliminated from our list!. This was the second time we went for brunch. The first time was bad, but we thought maybe they needed a second chance. Never again. The waiters decided to eat THEIR brunch while we waited 30 minutes for chicken and waffles. The place was empty, and while the waiters ate at the back of the restaurant, they forgot to even turn around to check if we were ok. When our food arrived, it was two pieces of chicken (honestly KFC does it better) that tasted like nothing and three slices of waffles which were 10-11$. After they apologized profusely they decided to comp our drinks: great: two coffees and a lemonade. What savings! We live in the neighborhood and will not go in there again.
love this place!. There is nothing bad i can say about cafe shane except on sundays they are packed in the morning til early afternoon. I live down the block from them and decided to give them a try. me and my boyfriend went there for brunch and the place was great. their staff is super friendly and attentive, and the food is really tasty. i've been there over 8 times so far and each time, the experience was really good. i can't even believe someone had a complaint about their service because everyone in there is sooo friendly. they even remember me and my boyfriend after the 2nd time going, and greeted us outside. i would highly recommend shanes, but it is very packed on sundays, but the wait to me is worth it because their food is great.
I Enjoyed The Service And The Food :). I live right up the block from cafe Shane and never stopped until one day. I'm soooo glad I did. The foods was great it was tasty and seasoned just right. The service was speedy I didnt have to wait long long for my order, the staff was friendly we held a conversation while waiting on the food. It might have been the best time I have ever had at restaurant. I truly recemmend this place to other people.
Editorial Review. Electic Prospect Heights cafe offers the neighborhood three meals a day.
Good brunch.
Good alternative brunch spot with a focus on soul food and twists on originals.
Great laidback atmosphere, Bob Marley on the stereo and TVs, and good coffee bar.
Great decor, affordable & tasty.
I frequently bring clients and friends to Shane's. The wood paneling is charming, the bathroom clean and the food is very tasty. There's something for the veggie lover and omnivore.
It has a selection of coffees and teas, as well as beer and wine
IF YOU FREQUENTLY EAT out it's a winner. Shane's includes live entertainment certain evenings.
Worst servide ever!. I cannot believe how bad the servers can be here. I used to be a waitress (and not the best either) so I'm pretty forgiving, but this place can just be horrible. They used to have a decent staff, but recently it's been atrocious. The last time we came they screwed up our order 3 times (and we weren't ordering anything that's not on the menu!), we had to get up to put milk and sugar in our coffee because by the third time we asked in 20 minutes we gave up. And, the waiter then told us it was the kitchen's fault, not his! Give me a break! The food is very good, but I wouldn't go unless you don't care what you get, how long you're there or how cold your food is by the time you get to eat it.
