Great Independent Boutique in Brooklyn.
I love Cog and Pearl. Anywhere that supports and sells local artists' work is going to get support from me. They have such a good eye, too. Everything they sell fits a sort of whimsical, earthy aesthetic that I really dig. I live in Los Angeles, and I've had to place orders over the phone; still a great experience. Their website is really stunning and nice to play with. I've e-mailed back and forth with the owners several times with questions about different items?they're always super quick to respond and really friendly. Check this place out!

The greatest!.
I love this store. It supports local artists and always has the most unusual gifts. From psych terms flash cards to a soda top/knit purse, this place always has great choices. Worth a visit.

This gift store with a discerning eye helps hip Brooklynites find the perfect present..
The Scene
Painted green and purple on the outside, with a clean and airy feel inside, this corner boutique refreshes shopping senses dulled by more cramped, stuffy alternatives. Adding to the appeal, about half of the store's items--home decor, jewelry, vintage-looking T-shirts--are made by area artists.
The Goods
The unique purses (made from such materials as old book covers and vintage car upholstery) and a large selection of delicate semi-precious jewelry separate this store from others on the block. Scattered about are fun finds that continue the recycled theme--such as a bowl made from an old record--along with more standard gifts, like vases, candles and blank books. Even if you're shopping for friends, you're bound to walk out of this store with a little something for yourself.
