Great cut, but a question. I love the hair cuts I get from Robert, but I have a question: Are we supposed to leave a tip? He and his wife own the place so it's not clear to me.

Great cut, color, and owners!. I have been going to Jet Set for about five years and I can't say enough good things. Robert and Dawn (the owners) are a fantastic, warm, welcoming couple who give you personalized and individual attention. The color they use is gentle but doesn't fade, and Robert's cuts are great. Robert is a veteran hair professional and really knows his stuff. The salon is cute and fashionable, and it is a real treat to go there. This place has it all!

Consistently great haircuts and color!. I've been going to Robert and Dawn for years. He does great color - I always get compliments on my hair. It's a very relaxing atmosphere and they're always so nice to chat with. This is a real neighborhood gem!

If You Want Beautiful Hair This Is The Place. I have been following Robert for 20 years. I live in NJ and drive all the way to downtown Brooklyn to see him. I have very fine, delicate hair and have been coloring my hair for as long as I can remember. I did go to other hairdressers before I met Robert. I am convinced if I didn't find him I would have little hair left and it would be very damaged. My hair today looks and feels healthy. He is also the only one who was able to get my hair to grow long, which was always my desire.

Robert listens to your wants and needs but will ALWAYS only do what is best for your hair. Many times he talked me out of some of my crazy hair ideas which in the long run kept my hair healthy. He is a fabulous stylist but his true genius is in his color. He is a scientist. I get compliments from other colorists, when I am out, that tell me how amazing my highlights are. I am a true testament to his talent. It is truly not easy to keep my hair looking great but thanks to him I always look and feel good.

As a side note the other plus to Jet Set is Robert's beautiful wife and partner Dawn. They are a classy, smart , fun pair and it is always a pleasure spending time in their salon. If you want a wonderful salon experience and leave looking like a million bucks Jet Set is the place!!!

Nice people but poor color job. I really wanted to find a good place to come locally for my hair since going into Manhattan is a half day excursion. The color really dried out my hair worse than the stuff you buy at the drugstore and the color faded from dark brown to rusty orange in 2 weeks. The woman obviously did not know how to assess my hair type and use the appropriate products. I had to buy color at the drugstore to correct it and that gave me better color and conditioning than what I got here. I do have friends in the neighborhood who tell me I should go to Robert and give it a second try which I may do. But I would rather take a couple extra hours and go to Manhattan and get it done right than get it done wrong in a convenient manner. The price was the same as my colorist in Manhattan so it's really a time saving issue for me.

Consistent, Incredible Cuts and Color in Brooklyn. As a former beauty publicist, I've been so lucky to have had incredible haircuts and color treatments from celebrity stylists that demand big money. When I left the business I was left footing the bill for my own hair with the added difficulty of finding someplace that was easy and convenient since time is not my own with two kids.

Five years ago I gave Jet Set a try and I had, and continue to have, the best haircuts of my life. I have curly hair and a few greys here and there so I can't just go anywhere. Because it's owned and run by a married couple the service is personal and kind, and I enjoy my time hanging with the owners, Dawn and Robert, as much as I enjoy the great cut and color. I've sent at least ten of my friends there and every one has been thrilled. I would be shocked by anyone who said otherwise.

Good haircut, easy location for this Brooklynite. I had my first haircut at Jet Set salon yesterday. The location is ideal for me, but more importantly, the haircut I got from Monica was what I wanted. She listened to me when I described my hair and what I was looking for, she was really nice and genuine during the haircut, and she never pressured me to buy any of their products. The cost was totally reasonable and half of what I've paid at more high-profile salons in Manhattan. The owner, Dawn, gave me a soothing head massage while washing my hair and was also very friendly. Nice spot!

Great Cut, Great Atmosphere. I've been looking for a stylist I'd bother going back to since moving to NY two years ago, and I finally found one. I had a late appointment yesterday evening - their schedule is fantastic for actual humans with jobs - and came in a little too tired to really articulate my needs. Monica asked enough questions, though, that I felt confident that I'd get exactly the cut I wanted despite my laziness. And I did! She was great - really friendly and very talented. The price was excellent for the city and I've been getting compliments all day.

Finally. Not since my stylist at Arrojo Cutler departed for the UK 6 years ago have I been back to a stylist more than once. And who would have believed that right around the corner in Red Hook was were I would finally find the person who could intuit just what my mop needed. Monica actually listened when I said I didn't have alot of time to spend on hair daily, rarely used products, and had wavy hair that could also fall flat. She took incredibly long locks well past my mid back and updated it with sweeping bangs and super smart layers that I lay tame for my job during the week, and can also look great with wave and volume during the weekend for a much more 'me' look. And 3 months later its grown out gorgeously.

so pleased!. I'm so glad I discovered this place. Robert gave me a great haircut. I've recently moved to New York and had tried a few places in Manhattan that were only so-so, as well as more expensive than Jet Set. I'm pretty picky when it comes to my hair but honestly, this is one of the best cuts I've ever gotten. I will definitely go back.
