clothes treated like dirt

I have to agree with all the other reviews that complain about the disrespectful attitude of the staff at Beacon's Closet.
I recently went to there to drop off some items to make a little extra cash. I wish I had read others' reviews on here before wasting my time.
Some of the clothes were brand new, the rest had been worn just a few times. Some of them delicate cashmere/ woolen/ silk/ embroidered items. Labels included Sisley, J. Crew, Club Monaco, Banana Republic, etc. All clothes were a size 6 or a medium and they were all in far better shape than the usual offerings in Beacon's Closet - no B.O. smell, not as worn, etc.
I didn't mind that not all my clothes were accepted, but I was SHOCKED to see how carelessly they had been treated - they were balled up and shoved back in the bags like trash. This is beyond unacceptable, particularly in the case of my delicate clothes that I described above.
It's not like I expected my clothes to be returned to me neatly folded, but *some* effort should have been made. I appreciate that the staff might be busy, but I would rather wait longer and have my items treated with care.
When I politely pointed this out to the girls who returned my bag of clothes, they got all 8itchy and waved me away when I asked for the items that they *did* want to be returned to me.
I am so disgusted with the attitude of the staff that I will never set foot in that store again. I'll stick with eBay, thanks!
- Pros: absolutely not a single one.
- Cons: snooty, rude staff who treat your clothes like dirt.
racks are okay, service is awful

I've bought a few great things from the store but they def have problems there. I put something on hold there yesterday and the guy said that it would be there today...so, I went back. Before going to the counter, i looked at the racks again and found the thing that I put on hold! They talk about people's clothes in front of others. One of the girls called a dress "ugly" but it looked so similar to a lot of other things there and to her co-worker's dress. I agree with other reviewers. They judge the clothes that you bring in bags by what you are wearing that day. so, if you want to sell your clothes there, make sure you are not wearing your office clothes. The way that I see it, however, is that they really missed out on some great Ella Moss, Ollie, and Bebe clothing. Their loss! Don't be offended if they don't take your clothes! They don't even look at them!
back to ebay.

Some pf the girls that work in the Park Slope store are horrible. They openly talk about people shopping there. It takes you right back to 5th grade gym class. I have store credit there which makes me crazy. As soon as I've used it up, I'm done with Beacons. I left that kind of nonsense behavior behind when I graduated junior high.
- Pros: You find great stuff.
- Cons: Some of the employees are horrrrrrrrrrible.
