The guys are simply the best!. Not bad at all, hired these movers last week for my move from New York City to Long Island on September 24 and they arrived on time (08-00 in the morning I was impressed since they arrived 08-00 SHARP! as it was scheduled ), worked fast packed all my furniture for free and also gave me 3 huge wardrobe boxes with no cost. Their foreman his name is John was extremely helpful explaining all the details and managing the entire packing and loading. Finally the move took the entire day and they finished at 10 pm but they worked really fast and I cannot imagine how long would it take if I hire some other moving company. The guys are simply the best!

Thank you guys!. I discovered NYC Moving & Storage in 2008 through a glowing recommendation from fellow renters at a storage facility. Based on that and good online postings, I had them move items from my apartment and storage units in NYC to storage facilities in Hoboken, NJ. They were prompt, fast and attentive. I found them to be very knowledgeable, professional and reasonably priced movers. I asked them to again move more things for me in 2010, with the same positive results.

I would highly recommend this company to anyone!. I would highly recommend anyone planning a move to use NYC Moving & Storage. I had them to move me from Manhattan to Hoboken , NJ on September, 8th. The staff is exceptional so is their Customer Service. They are affordable, clean, courteous and used care in handling my furniture and valuables. From scheduling the move to completion, I had a great experience and will use their moving service in the future as well as recommend these movers to friends and family because of their best price and top moving service.

George and his crew came on time and worked non-stop!. NYC Moving & Storage was the first moving company my wife and I have ever used, and they will be the only movers we use in the future. George and his crew came on time and worked non-stop! They quickly assessed the best way to pack up our stuff, shrink wrapped and padded all of our furniture, even dis-assembled my bed which would not fit through the door. When we got to our new house, they put the bed back together and again, worked non-stop to get us unloaded and put all the heavy stuff where we wanted it. Absolutely worth the money!

Professionalism goes along way. Moving itself is stressful. We were moving from NJ to CA. Therefore I requested estimators to come to our home to take a look at what we were moving since I heard so many horror stories - charging for stairs, charging more than what was quoted, holding items hostage, you know what I mean. Highlawn was one of the companies I chose, since I like a challenge, even with some of the bad reviews I read, I realized that everyone's tea is not everyone's coffee. They were more good than bad, I never prefer goody too shoes, things go wrong and that is reality. They was very professional from the inception, the office was really detailed and knowledgeable about the moving process. Trust me I grilled them. The estimator was friendly and professional, he explained to me how everything worked and put it in writing, a binding estimate. All-in-all, there was of course a delay, however they were in contact with me every step of the way, though we were not really in any hurry to receive our items, I was impressed with the quality of staff and will definitely use them again. Thank you Highlawn

Bad experience. Highlawn Moving Inc was recommended to me by a friend who moved to FL and to be honest, she did have a good experience with them. However, my experience with them left a lot to be desired. I moved from Bronx, NY to Marion, AR. As a single guy, I didnt have much stuff to be moved down. When they called me to get the binding estimate, I gave them all the stuff I had and they calculated that it will cost me $860, a good price at that. However, I was shocked to see that on the day of moving, they jacked up the cost to $1320 after laoding the truck! And they insisted I had to pay cash as they did not accept personal checks...and nobody had warned me about this rule!

They had asked me when I wanted it delivered and I told them June 28th, 2010, but they told me if they couldnt deliver it that, they would deliver it the next day...which was fine with me. But I was so horrified to arrive Marion, AR and then call them to find out when my stuff was arriving and they had no clues whatsoever when it will be arriving. This really pissed me off so bad. They told me that if I had only read the fine print that they usually allow 7-12 business days before arrival to destination. But I felt a serious business outfit should tell their customers specifically of such rules and allowances and not leave them to read them in the fine print....who has time to go through all those heaf of papers???

Suffice it to say that it took an extra 2 weeks before the finally delivered my stuff, after a lot of lies along the way. I was really disgusted with this company. And to cap it all, the two guys who delivered my stuff refused to re-assemble my bed and dresser as earlier agreep upon. My experience was a complete mess and I will not wish it on my worst enemy. Please just avoid this company and use a company that is well-trusted. Otherwise it will be penny wise and pound foolish!

Reliable + Efficient + Knowledgeable. My move was from Jersey City to Los Angeles, CA. Nobody tells you when you put your name and number for a moving quote you are bombarded with calls. Anyway, I got quite a few calls and who knows how many emails. However, after speaking with Highlawn and a couples others I considered, I decided on an estimate appointment. Josh seemed very knowledgeable and let me know that price is based on my item listing and if that changed that could affect my cost. I really liked that kind of straight forward-ness, instead of being 'guarranteed' a low rate, I was looking for reasonable as these are my lifelong goods.

Of course, I had sold some of the stuff initially stated in the list and their office helped me adjust the price prior to my moving date.

The guys we about a 1/2 late, however they did call to let me know of the traffic situation on highway when they were on the way. They got right to work, wrapping, labeling and loading the truck. NB, always let them inform you as to when you are getting close to your expected move size, so you are always aware of any changes. They kept in informed and always asked if I needed anything re-packed to ensure it's security. They were quick and they handled the job with ease.

When they were done the cost was just about $100 more however, I approved it because of the unusual size of my couch and some items I didnt want put on the truck too close together because they were fragile. People I learnt that you are paying for the space on the truck, so make sure you look at how they are loading it from time to time. I will advise that you give your input, and show them you have an idea of that.

Got my stuff within the time frame that I wanted and Overall I was happy with the guys.

I read too many horror stories about Movers taking people for granted and I was happy that they were straight with me when I asked about certain things. Sometimes it is better to ask the question than not at all and to be hit with a surprise. I will recommend them and use them again in the future.

Efficient And Reliable!!!. Moved End of April New york NY - New York NY upper east side 2 BR apt 24th Floor to the 6th floor of an elevator building. I was mainly worried of my very expensive piano (Steinway), some of my large pieces of furniture and few large paintings and mirrors. Four movers came and made my move go very smooth. With simple words I'll say: No damage, friendly crew and competitive price.

THANK YOU!!! and I will recommend Highlawn Moving again!

Very Satisfied Costumer!!!. We moved with Highlawn Moving from Wayne NJ to Dallas TX. I have been very stressed out about this move especially since we have lots of fragile items ( very lg mirrors, glass dining tbl, lg lcd tv etc..) and with all of the stories going around I was horrified... to make long story short we have a full 3 BR + Office House.

On move day the guys had show up with a large truck and had spent all day packing and wrapping all the furniture. Just as promised our belonging arrived a week later, the only thing that was really damaged was one of my floor lamps was slightly bent, so let me tell you!! If you saw how fragile my furniture you would have never moved anywhere!

Price was very good and as I was quoted. I got few quotes from other companies in which some were much higher. Just make sure that you get an estimate before the move. I would definitly recommend this company!!!

The Worst. Highlawn moved us from Forest Hills, Queens, to Vermont. As "wrocs" stated, the "binding estimate" was a joke, as the crew boss tried to extract more money from us after everything was loaded on the truck.

They promised 4 men, only 3 showed up. Since they were understaffed by 25%, it took forever and a day for them to complete loading the truck.

When our items were delivered, only two men arrived, again, grossly understaffed. The two were absolutely exhausted by the time they finished.

Many of our items were sloppily wrapped, (tape on bare wood) so there was some damage to several pieces of furniture and antiques.

I hired these folks because the "relocation consultant," Josh Cohen seemed so honest and friendly. Next time I move, I will only go with a major, well known, company. In the end, after the nickel and diming stunts pulled by Highlawn, the cost would probably be the same, maybe even cheaper, had we made a wiser choice

Again, read my lips "do not use this outfit!" Go with a major company such as Mayflower, United Van Lines, etc. You won't be sorry like I was
