In Short
A smattering of paintings by local artists and red walls constitute the bulk of the decor at this Mexican-American cafe. Comfy, worn-out armchairs provided sip spots for cappuccinos and lattes during the day, while servers sling burritos, tacos and burgers to the table seats in the evening. Locals swear by the fish tacos and complain about the sometimes pokey service. The long bar doubles as a pastry counter and mini library stocked with pamphlets from the neighborhood.

I've been searching for decent mexican food ever since I moved here from California and finally found it! The first time I stopped in was completely unplanned and a pleasant surprise. A woman was hand rolling tortillas in the kitchen and I became beyond excited. The menu can be a bit overwhelming as they have a variety of breakfast dishes, all american dishes and burritos, platters etc. Starting off with chips and guacamole is the way to go...the chips are fresh and still served warm since they've just come out of the oven. The burritos are amazing and so are the breakfast dishes, they made me feel like I was back home. If you are looking for a more authentic mexican dish with a no fuss atmosphere this is the place!

We live in the neighborhood but didn't stop in because the place was always empty. After hearing great comments we decided to give it a try and were pleasantly surprised. Now, we go up to 3 times a week. The food and service are always consistent. Love the fish tacos, nachos, BLT, etc., etc. Oh, the breakfasts, too. Everything is always fresh, even the chips are delivered warm to your table. Thanks Magda.

The food isn't spectacular, and the service is spotty at best, but this a great low-key place with good food that's well worth the low prices (meals under $10). Brunch is particularly good.
