DaTe NighT. I must say I have been to a lot of sushi restaurants and after going to Yamato they are by far the besT I have ever tasted...The prices are terrific and the atmosphere is very low key. I will be recommending this pLace to all my sushi Lovers!!

Very, very nice. The place is a bit hidden away, but once you get there, it's all worth it. not only is the food

Best. Sushi. Ever.. This place has ruined me for neighborhood sushi. Creative, consistent, fresh. Excellent sashimi, and the millennium roll is beyond delicious. Not cheap but very yummy. Love it.

Red Dragon Roll - my favorite thing to eat, of any food group - hands down. Just go to Yamato and order the Red Dragon Roll. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. The Seafood Dynamite is also otherworldly. I'm not even going to bother to describe it; it speaks for itself.

overpriced japanese food with mediocre service. Went here on sat 1/26 and was disappointed. Chicken teriyaki had tomato or pimentos on top?? food was luke warm. The waitress was not attentive at all. I was looking for banana tempura for dessert and they dont have. Too many other good places to have to settle.

Favorite Sushi in NYC. I have eaten at some of the 'best' sushi joints in NYC (Nobu, Bond Street, JewelBako, etc) and Yamato is my favorite. An unpretentious spot in Park Slope, the sushi is consistently good, the service is pleasant, effective and unassuming. In the summer months, the back garden area is really nice. The rolls are creative and I have yet to find another sushi place that serves up more inventive yet delicious japanese food. The Dancing, White River and Millenium rolls are musts.

Reliable, Fresh Sushi. My husband and I take out from here 3-4 times a month. The sashimi is always fresh and the rolls are innovative and delicious. Have never had a problem with service save a missing rice once. Delivery can be spot on or lacking depending on the weather and the day of the week. Delivery guy sometimes get upset if you don't tip more than 10%. We've found it to be better and fresher than Kiku which is comparable in price.

Great sushi, cute garden!. I love the creative rolls that this place offers, with ingredients like mozzarella and asparagus. The rolls are generously large (I can't eat more than two!) and fresh too. Some things are doused in sauce like the appetizers or the salads, but they're willing to put it on the side if you ask. I would have them on speed-dial if I knew how to program my landline!

Good creative rolls!. Yamato is an excellent place to go if youre not into sashimi, or if you have friends who doesnt like sushi much. They have great rolls, the triple color and norwegetan rolls, are awesome and filling. One special roll and one regular roll is enough to fill you up, but save room for dessert! They have a delicious banana chocolate dessert, as well as a great green tea tempura.

The appetizers are also delicious!

Highly recommended!

Best Sushi in Brooklyn. Aside from Sushi Yasuda in Manhattan, this is arguably the best sushi I've ever had (and some of the most innovative). Fantastic bang for the buck, great atmosphere and consistently quality service. The Mexican Roll, White River Roll and Millenium rolls are musts.
