The Scene – Another 99-cent store bites the dust as this souped-up drinking hole hits the south Slope like a wrecking ball. Irish owners (also involved with Atlantic Avenue's Last Exit) gutted the place and built it with their own hands, working from rough designs they sketched on the bare walls. STOLEN WALLET

My wallet was stolen out of my bag on Friday night at Royale. The bouncer did not seem to care and told me that it was lost. He said he knew who did it but could not do anything about it.!!!!!!!!!! NOt a friendly bar for Gowanus and park slope!

Solid Place

I go to the Royale on the regular and it's always a good time. Bartenders are great and they go out of there way to take care of you. The DJs do a good job getting the crowd going and the dance floor is never empty. All in all, it's a really fun place.
