Great Italian Salon – It's unique due to the Italian flavor - friendly to kids - and long standing clientele - but atmosphere has been tense due to non-professional stylist who has attacked owner and family repeatedly - been fired for harassing the family - and wont stop making calls in Albanian to the owners...
WOW!!! Vespa is reborn!!! – I have been coming to Vespa salon since it's grand opening 7 years ago. I was a loyal and happy customer always, until Shlomy started working there and then I stopped coming due to his rudeness, arrogance, constant whining, lack of people skills and domestication. Recently, I heard that he is no longer around and I decided to come back and give Sergio and Vespa Salon a new try. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the rebirth of this family oriented salon. He has some new faces that are a real talent and are pleasant to be around. Vespa Salon is a surefire bet to bring yourself and the whole family to experience something very unique in Park Slope. Old world charm with modern day flair. Sergio and crew are stars on the rise once again and will definitely not disappoint. To really understand you must go and experience it for yourself. Bravo!!!!
Best Saturday Salon for Families and kids – I have been taking my kids to Sergio for years - before he had his own business - He gave my kids their first haircut and took pictures for me! He makes the kids feel so special -I guess it comes from being a great dad himself - the kids are free to roam around without getting dirty looks - carriages are welcome - Sergio knows how to communicate with kids - he lives in their world through his own little ones. He maked the kids feel special and look Fashionably cool - he smiles and makes jokes and the kids love him! He knows all about
upcoming events especially the ones having to do with Italian Culture - His family's major interest - and also sports - all the italian campioni - the kids love the Italian experience!
The original Sergio is back!!!! The salon is great again!! – I went for color and cut this week and I was very happy with the service and the cut- the customer should be treated like a star and should decide the way she/he wants to look not the stylist. I felt relaxed and comfortable during my visit. The new stylist also does updoes and full hair - perfect for weddings - My highlights-lowlights were great!
I had stopped going there because I was treated terribly by a shady
character named Shlomy-he was rude, offensive, cursed in front of my kids- obviously he had limited vocabulary - only the F****word. He yelled at everyone, even Sergio, his boss - He was constantly on his cell leaving me unattended - he shouted on the cell- spoke in a foreign language - which shouldnt be done. He told me I looked terrible before his haircut -which I was not happy with- and insulted me for not liking it - he didnt finish styling my hair and just left - he had burned my scalp but said it wasnt true! He stained my shirt and didnt care - he didnt offer to pay for it - It was a Max Mara shirt I bought in Italy - I mean I can go on and on - he was a complete neanderthal of a being. I had never been so humiliated in my life - Sergio was so mortified he apologized and offered to pay for the shirt - I told him I was so sorry for him but I would be back only if he was gone - THAT DAY HAS COME !!!!!!!!! ALLEGRIA!!!!!!!!!!!! ALLEGRIA!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SO HAPPY FOR YOU SERGIO!!!!!!!! WE SHOULD ALL CELEBRATE!!!!!!!!!!!! GO BACK TO THE NEW VESPA !!!!!! THE ORIGINAL VESPA!!!!!!!the rude monkey is gone to Salon Biton - you can join him in his new habitat if you are into rude, coarse, crass - overrated but Now Vespa is back to celebrating & making ladies feel special and pampered - as opposed to the male chauvinist experience I had- If that's what you are looking for go to Vanderbilt, have free booze- & be treated like a FB****(his fav word)! I'm glad Vespa IS NEW AND FRESH AND SO ITALIANO - ITALIANO VERO CHECK IT OUT! E VAIIIIIIII!!!!!!!
The RINASCIMENTO (Rebirth) of Vespa Salon – Finally with a New Year 2008 our small, very Italian salon - Partenopeo come una botta di Pino Daniele -
has started to beat again on it's original theme of service and style - the Italian style .
recognized the world over - we are back to our original vision of a Vespa scooter bringing you to Sergio for a Italian haircut and color - and some espresso - with a family friendly atmosphere and Italian music in the background. They have gotten rid of the old and are starting fresh with a new staf
Rediscover this corner of Naples on the slope - they have renovated the place , and are in the process of making more changes. The atmosphere is pleasant again - welcoming like an Italian piazza on a Spring Day. Come in to be greeted all'Italiana - and you can be sure your requests will be welcome without bad attitude, without the arrogance, rudeness, hollering, shouting , crassness, and complete non polished behavior of someone who has "left the building" . So many have prayed for this the new beginning back to
the original roots of Vespa Salon - from Caserta, Naples - where a palace was raised for the King - on the voyage from that road Sergio has landed in Park Slope. Join him on this seven year journey - Venite a trovarci! They will take care of you Italian style - southern Italian style. They will not only take care of your hair but also your soul - your Italian soul - we should all have one! (even the French do - see Carla Bruni).
Hope to meet you there soon!
A Slice of Heaven in Brooklyn – The service I have been receiving in this salon is exceptional. The staff is friendly, welcoming, warm and hospitable. I am always treated with great respect. I always get what I ask for when it comes to my haircuts, products that I always use or hair color (every blue moon, when I want a drastic change). I am always offered a refreshment (soda, water, coffee, wine or cognac) and sometimes even food when they order out. The environment at Vespa is always relaxing and comforting from the personal service, the relaxed attitude of the staff and the decor, which alway reminds me of Italy. I have been a happy and loyal customer of Sergio's at Vespa Salon since it's grand opening. I travel by subway and bus almost an hour from south Brooklyn for my hair cut every 2-3 weeks and I don't forsee an end in sight. At Vespa you feel like family. I highly recommend it to everyone.
Sloppy work – The people are friendly and low pressure, the service is on time, and yes, they offered me espresso, which is a nice touch. They gave me my Citysearch 10% off even though I hadn't printed the coupon. However, there are serious problems. My color took 2 hours because they had to do it twice. (They didn't charge me double, thank god.) Both times my hair was rinsed, plenty of water splashed and dripped on my face (good thing I wasn't wearing makeup) and ran down my neck. Even now I can tell the color hadn't been completely rinsed off the back of my head; lord knows how it will look once I take care of that. I went in for medium blond and came out with very dark reddish blond. They swear the red will fade and the overall color will lighten. Um, okay-- when I get color at any other salon, I walk out with the color I want already on my hair. They mean well, but I'm not going back.
Editorial Review – Salon exudes warm European hospitality as stylists perform pro hair styling service.
Service & Style in one! – Sergio at vespa Salon is wonderful...I used to live in Brooklyn and moved but still come back because I love the way he cuts my hair, and the ambience of the salon is great. Very customer service friendly, I always get an authentic Italian espresso while I'm there, catch up on neighborhood news, and walk out feeling beautiful every time. He really knows what he's doing, I've had people stop me on the train and ask me where I cut my hair!...Vespa is a small neighborhood place, but is big on style...
They just don't get it. – I would not reccomend this place. When i entered I wasn't even greeted with a hello and the woman didn't even introduce herself...When she was washing my hair she was yelling to someone else across the room... never once asking me if the water temp. was right (which it wasn't). The haircut was decent but the atmosphere and the attitude was pathetic!
