“The warm chocolate cake will melt in your mouth!”
“Great wine list too.”
“The staff is quite welcoming, the decor is nice, and the food is not to complain about.”
“Must try the Mussels Du Jour, my favorite on the menu and can be a great app or entree.”
“wanted to find a really nice place to go for brunch today, even ventured on the shuttle bus to get there, I even read all the reviews on this site so that I knew what i was getting into, but apparently I am the only person that had a horrible experience”
“Service was friendly and everything was well done.”
“Our bill was around 200 which I think is pretty pricey for less than mediocre French food.”
“Now, I grew up in a country where I could eat fresh fish within 10 minutes of being caught so I have to admit I am very spoiled when it comes to the quality of fish.”
What Happened!!! Always empty!! Cant be the recession!!! Maybe its bad cheese!!!. Went here with my girlfriend on tuesday night and had the moules frites and cheese plate!! We sat in an empty restaraunt fully staffed for over two hours. This place used to be special but seems to have shipped its charm back to the french countryside. Service was fine but talk about some sandy mussels. we returned the mussels which were taken off the bill fortunately thanks to the kind waitress. The cheese plate on the other hand was what we think kept us up all night in the bathroom. It took almost three days for the two of us to get over feeling ill and upon talking to the manager after the situation, we were told to come in and try the cheese again and if we dont like it then we wouldnt have to pay for it. No Thanks!
Fine for drinks on the patio but at $7 a pop for a beer.. whoa. after reading people's feedback on here, we went for a treat. little did we know - the place is totally overpriced for the neighborhood. all in all too much attitude as well. what a shame - could have been a nice evening, somewhere else.
real French bistro.
atmosphere is very romantic and fills your appetite for French cuisine. I haven't been to France, but I imagine Fada's is the closest I can get.
I highly recommend the Moules Frites. It was so good I wanted to drink the sauce
Very Good!. The food is very good, authentic and affordable. The Wine list Offers a good variety and service is friendly and efficient, no attitude and no extended waiting time for anything.
Shhhh... I want to keep this place a secret. I've been to this place with friends twice; once on a week night and another time on a Friday evening. Both times, this place was great. I feel like keeping this place a secret - I want it just for myself! Fada is friendly and busy without being uncomfortably noisy. You can chat with your friends at the table without screaming - a rarity in New York. The menu offers a nice selection of dishes on top of the day's specials. Our food was delicious, from appetizers to desserts. Service is prompt and friendly. The wine list is superb! Places like this one make me feel hopeful that, in the often rude, loud, and low-quality restaurant scene in NY, there are exceptional eating spots like this one!
best french bistro. Love Fada every time! Food is consistently good. Can be long waits. Always a must go. Enjoy taking friends as often as possible.
nice little bistro. Eventhough the food is not exquisite, there is a great atmosphere in this little williamsburg bistro..... The staff is quite welcoming, the decor is nice, and the food is not to complain about......I would recommend this restaurant for a cool night out.
simply perfect. Love the decor. The service is fantastic, only thing is they only accept AMEX. The food is fabulous! I had the onion soup which was so cheesy. Then for the main course, the steack medium rare, simply perfect. To top it all off we sat in the garden on a nice breezy evening. Wonderful experience!
This place wont be here in two years... Foul creatures with four legs everywhere!!!. Never have i been so disgusted with a restaraunt. I went in for brunch with my fiance and her family and upon taking my first drink of water I noticed a crunch... Low and behold, a live insect is in my mouth... Of course it was a ROOCH.... This place should be closed down ASAP. Looks like the place hasn't been cleaned in years...Good service will not keep me coming back...Glad there are other French places to try in the neighborhood.
Apparently you are one of our competitors. I have never seen such a low integrity. Instead of trying to make others look bad why don't you invest your energy to perfect your own restaurant?
For all the other readers, please disregard this awful person. We pride ourselves as being one of the cleanest restaurants in New York. EVERY NIGHT after closing our restaurant, we have it cleaned throughly until dawn. If something like this has really happaned we would know, trust me.
FADA Team
Overall, Great Food, average service, avoid on very busy nights, skip the Bar.. We liked this place, so we went there for New Years Eve at $75 Price fixed. We were seated right away. We started the meal with no napkins, and with tea spoons for the soup. The soup was weak in flavor, the main courses and deserts were great. Our Waitress promptly handled any problem, and was very attentive and friendly. We went out happy and smoked outside, when I realized I forgot something inside. I run in with my lighted cigarette to pick it up, and had an agitated barman running after me telling me rather laud that there is no smoking in the restaurant. He was right of course, but I thought he was a bit rude for New Years Eve. He could have offered to bring my stuff out, or take my cigarette. It was average for New Years Eve dinner and price, but for regular night out, they have good food and average service.
