“sensational steak tartar and fresh fish.”
“We went a few times last spring and one of us always ordered the salmon- delicious- but they changed the menu and nothing else was so great that we had to keep going back.”
“wanted to find a really nice place to go for brunch today, even ventured on the shuttle bus to get there, I even read all the reviews on this site so that I knew what i was getting into, but apparently I am the only person that had a horrible experience”

“Now, I grew up in a country where I could eat fresh fish within 10 minutes of being caught so I have to admit I am very spoiled when it comes to the quality of fish.”
wow. This place was amazing, my boyfriend and I went to celebrate our first 1 year together. The waiters placed us in the garden. The lighting, the atmosphere, the foods and drinks...it was so romantic. The food was delicious. The service was great. They always made sure everything was okay and they knew when we needed some time alone.
All in all FADA was pretty cool. After my first time dining at FADA I had a very good experience. The food was delicious for the price and the desserts were killer. The wait staff was friendly and ultra accommodating for all needs, plus a lot of them have been working for a while and conversational french can be heard in the back. All in all FADA was pretty cool.
lovely french bistro. I celebrated my birthday with my family here, only to wish I'd discovered this restaurant earlier. We shared a variety of items "family style" and found each and everyone exquisite. The atmosphere is extremely cute, charming and romantic. FADA has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in NY!
good. This place is one of the top restaurant in the city, my opinion. I had diner last week with friends here and we had great time. The food is great and so delicious. I had nothing to complain about this restaurant. I think its price is high, but if you go as a dating couple, then your man is the one, whose knows how to treat a lady.
Do not try to the Bouillabaisse at Fada.
So I went to Fada last night for a friend's birthday celebration (and by celebration I mean there were only 4 of us) but we went there to try the Bouillabaisse which as some of you might know is a traditional Provençal fish stew originating from the port city of Marseille. You have to order it a day ahead and they'll cook it for you for a whole day.
We first got the fish soup and that was good and tasty, even though the garlic spread they brought with the toasted breads left all of us feeling a bit nauseous. (it was too heavy and creamy)
Then came the main entry, with 5 different kinds of fish, mussels, red snapper, lobster and few other kinds.
Now, I grew up in a country where I could eat fresh fish within 10 minutes of being caught so I have to admit I am very spoiled when it comes to the quality of fish. In all of new york, I still haven't found the fish I'd like to on a daily basis have and I've tried many upscale restaurants. It's just hardly ever fresh.. but I've had better luck with French restaurants because the few French places I've been, I felt like, spent time and money picking their meat and fish and I was usually left satisfied.
Now this place is I guess known for their specialty of Bouillabaisse and the broth that the fish was served in was tasteless. They hadn't salted the fish at all and the red snapper had turned a faded salmon color.. it was far from red, it was chewy and tasteless. The lobster was also chewy and again the broth it came in was just disappointing. It had no spices, no salt and just no taste in general. I am not sure how else to describe it.
When I asked the server the history of the dish she said "oh I have no idea.. that's a good question" she did later admit it was her first week there or whatever, but don't they train the staff anymore?
I asked for the manager who could not be found, I checked their website for contact info and couldn't find an email so here I am leaving this review.
Our bill was around 200 which I think is pretty pricey for less than mediocre French food. Fada, I hope you'll read this and talk to the chef about salting the food and adding some taste to it! We won't be back..
perfect brunch. went to brunch with my husband and absolutely loved it! we sat in the back under the cute little tree, and we were both very pleased! I hope to turn this into a once a week brunch thing. With the hubby or with out! It was amazing!
I love this place. Fada is a lot of fun. Great food at a very reasonable price, friendly service and great ambiance. I have brought many friends here and they have all left saying they were looking forward to coming back. Great wine list too. Just a good time
What a great time!‎. I love this place, have become a regular and would recommend to everyone. The cheese plate is killer. OK, here is one thing that French make better than us, Tarte Tartin, I tried theirs and what a taste. Can't miss with this place.
Very authentic French. The owners/staff are all French which I love. The brunch here is crowded and delicious. It's a good location in Williamsburg.
best place in williamsburg. This place is great -- love the fries, love the steak, love the french onion soup -- oh yeah did I tell you how delicious the mussel's are!!!!
