Most nights of the week, the experience at this neighborhood dive consists of throwing back a few cheap beers and stiff well drinks with worn-thin Polish men, while basking in the glow of neon beer signs and television. Come Friday, a week's worth of dust gets stirred up as young Brooklyn hipsters march en mass into the small and stageless back room, which transforms into an up-and-coming, word-of-mouth rock spot.

Rock 'n Roll Night

by tsongtze

Judging from your first impression of this place, you may think it's just another bar, but what goes on inside the place probably will change your opinion of it... at least on a Saturday night.

I went to this bar last night to see some bands, and the show turned out to be awesome! I wasn't familiar with the history of the place and their association with any music scenes, but last night was impressive. T.K. Web opened the show with just stunningly soulful music. The bands that followed were great, too. The headliner, the Witnesses, was great as always. It was a good sampling of the NYC music scene.

The vibe was great. There was none of the pretension you'd see in Manhattan, and the guys at the front with the pint glass, nodding to the sounds of harmonica, could show you how to enjoy a Saturday night.
