“After that, our servers seemed to have changed from our originally waitress to the man who took our dessert order because he came over to our table occasionally to see how we were doing, exchanging friendly banter with my date and even took a picture for ”

“If you love Italian food and Italians, "the real ones" you must try this wine bar !”
“Angelo the waiter was really nice and helpful with the wine selection, the Tiramisu was a little too creamy (I expected amazing) I will totally go back but I would love it if they took credit card.”
“this is a great little place.”
“would go back to Doc wine bar any time because great food and great people makes for a great time.”
“Luckily the other two waiters were very nice and friendly - we were given a dessert menu (upon request) and he took our order - dessert wine (moscato d'asti, yum!)”
“Unlike many hip Italian restaurants popping up off Bedford, D.O.C. is not overrun with hipsters, the waitstaff is totally friendly, and the portions are filling.”
“i've been there again on friday after a long time and i forgot how brilliant this place is.”
Love this place, Staff was very friendly, love their wine bar its off the hook, very nice atmosphere, Great service.
Loved It!!!.
After moving out here from California, this was my first exposure to a non-NYC wine bar, and I have to agree with a lot of positives that have been written. Prices are justified and the wine selection is broad enough for my palate to find comfort and adventure.
The bartender was sensible about wines and hip without being pretentious. This is a stop that I will make again.
A little Italy in Williamsburg. This place is very vegetarian friendly. As a vegetarian I highly recommend it. I have written a longer review on my blog. Check it out at www.urbanherbivores. The review is under the same heading as what I have here.
Best Kept Secret?. I stumbled into this place on a rainy weekend night when all of my usual Williamsburg spots were overrun with Hipsters, and I'm glad I did. They were about to close, but the staff was very accomodating and made me feel at home. It is very warm, cozy, and candle lit inside and gives you the feeling of an old world mom & pop place. I usually get bread & olive oil, and olives when I go to an Italian restaurant. What I got was this amazing flatbread, a chunk of the most delicous parmesan I've ever had, and some really tasty olives, not to mention the wine, which just brought together the whole experience. The staff was so warm and friendly, even though I could tell they were about to close. What a great experience, can't wait to go back!
best little wine spot in w'burg. splendid food, splendid wine, splendid service, splendid ambiance...by far the best little wine spot in williamsburg!! great for an intimate dinner, but these folks really know how to cater to larger parties, as well. highly recommended.
Cent'Anni!. D.O.C. wine bar is about as close to Italy as one can get amidst the hubbub of the Williamsburg social scene. With perfect lighting, low ceilings, candlelit tables, and a myriad of coloured place settings, this restaurant lifts the air right out of Sardinia and drops it back into Brooklyn so the wine-sippers and dinner-goers can step into a little secluded world for a couple of hours. Unlike many hip Italian restaurants popping up off Bedford, D.O.C. is not overrun with hipsters, the waitstaff is totally friendly, and the portions are filling. Plus there's a beautiful selection of wine. Perfect for a romantic date or meeting all your friends for a three course celebration, you can't go wrong with this place. Cent'Anni!
A cool place to enjoy great food and wine.
If you love Italian food and Italians, "the real ones" you must try this wine bar !!!
The food is great and they have an incredibly interesting Italian wine selection, The last time we had the best Italian chardonnay I ever had, Jermann Dreams and a wonderful wine from Sardinia suggested by our waiter, everyone was so friendly and warm, they made us feel like we were visiting old friends ....(and we were even given a wonderful tour of the new place next door when we asked if they had any space for private parties).....
I loved it, I applaud a place in NY that can be amazing and simple at the same time.
A lovely winebar.
The appeal is cozy, tables decorated with fresh produce, a rustic elegance that greets you as soon as you walk in the door. The warm ambience allowed us an escape from the cold, very windy night. Throughout our dinner , the service was excellent, our waitress was friendly, attentive, and helpful, giving us suggestions and answering our questions about the menu. While the wine and food blew us away, the bill did not ,prices are reasonable.
I highly recommend DOC to anyone looking for an amazing experience.
Lovely, cozy date spot. My date and I went to DOC Wine Bar this past Friday and had a lovely time (despite our waitress who apparently disliked us, but more on that later). Our waitress recommended a a wonderful glass of red wine for me that I loved and ordered for the rest of the night (and I'm usually a white wine drinker) and she recommended my date a nice glass of white. After our order was taken and water brought to the table, service seemed to go downhill. She forgot two of our dishes - the prosciutto with melon and plate of cheeses (and what's wine without cheese?!) - and after we finished our second glass of wine, she whisked our glasses off the table and didn't ask if we wanted another glass (which we did). We sat for about 20 minutes sipping water and trying to get her attention, which we never got. Luckily the other two waiters were very nice and friendly - we were given a dessert menu (upon request) and he took our order - dessert wine (moscato d'asti, yum!), tiramisu and salame di chocolate (?) - both was which was rich and delicious. (We wouldn't have ordered two desserts normally, but felt we had to because we hadn't gotten two of the dishes we had originally ordered.) After that, our servers seemed to have changed from our originally waitress to the man who took our dessert order because he came over to our table occasionally to see how we were doing, exchanging friendly banter with my date and even took a picture for us... until she placed the check on our table (NOT upon request). OVERALL however, we loved the ambiance, the food & the wine and, at times, even that we were left alone to talk and enjoy each other's company... just wondering why our waitress seemed not to want to serve us - maybe because we didn't order a bottle? Though we did drink enough to be monetarily equivalent to getting a bottle - or we would have, had she not just whisked away our glasses without a backward glance at us.
Best place in williamsburg. My boyfriend and I visited Doc wine bar last week for an intimate dinner for two in the outdoor-dining. Our evening was great starting off with glass of Prosecco for me and a glass of the special white wine for my boyfriend.WE had the special salad, which was delicious and the home made bread and cheese gnocchi, which was an unusual plate, simple but phenomenal. We finished with a desserts...tiramisu,amazing, and a chocolate mousse with pistacchio..heaven for me, paring with a glass of dessert wine, (was a good advice from our waiter). The service was great and greeted every customer with a smile. I would go back to Doc wine bar any time because great food and great people makes for a great time.I will celebrate my birthday here, my friends are going to love DOC like us.
