Great Chinese, terrific service..
Greenpoint neighborhood gem: the Lilliputian Shanghai Lee at the corner of Franklin and India Streets, is definitely the place to eat Chinese, in Brooklyn and in NYC. As good as many, if not most, Chinese restaurants in Chinatown and the East Village. Fresh food, well prepared; glistening sauces, and reasonable prices.
Beautifully served: a mild tea and small dish of peanuts upon sitting--a nice touch for the weary traveler who has hiked over on the G train. Really fresh vegetables, lovely (ungreasy) fried rices and great chile noodles. Wonderful tofu and vegetable entrees.Try the crispy orange chicken and the spicy fried rice with basil. Really light scallion pancakes with a hint of cilantro. And for dessert, a complimentary, carved, blood orange: sweet and delicious. This place will soon have a long line of people waiting to get into its small dining room. Really thoughtful and prompt service adds a nice ease to the meal.
