Avoid this place at all costs. This place is just incredibly horrible. In all of my travels, all over the world, this place rates the worst. The proprietor did not reserve a double room for us. We had to share a single bed (at the cost of a double) in what was basically a closet. No apologies and of course no refund. Dirty, cramped facilities, disfunctional owner's family shouting matches and crazy blind mother in law will keep you up at night. If you want to experience the worst that NY has to offer, stay here. Any unfortunate stereotypes about New Yorkers that you may have will be confirmed if you stay here. Really, warning you away from this place is a public service.

Thank God their closing it down. Was at the B & B for one night over the 2008 holidays, I had booked it for 7. The proprietor and husband were abusively yelling and screaming with each other the whole time I was there. This was totally unacceptable and unprofessional behavior. I could not endure this any longer and checked out the next day. Requested a refund on my deposit but was rejected. I strongly advise not to stay here.

Nothing Quaint about this b&b and the owner could care less if you're happy!!!!!!!!. My friend and I stayed here over the weekend of 10/18/08. We booked our reservation in late August and specifically requested a room with 2 beds. When we got to the b&b, the owner was clueless about what room she had available for us and just kept saying we don't guarantee a particular room. So, this is a problem if you need 2 beds because only 2 rooms fit that criteria and she had apparently already rented those. She offered to check to see if she could move us the next morning, but of course, we never heard from her. We ended up in a room with a double bed and a COT--with a 2-3 inch "mattress" on it. Totally unacceptable, but the owner, Joanna had our deposit and it was too late to cancel the reservation so we were stuck. We asked for some compensation on the rate, but the owner was very rude and had no concern that her tenants were not comfortable.

The facility is shabby with mix and match decor that really belongs in a Goodwill store. The towels are threadbare and good only for washing a car or dog. There's nothing quaint about this place. The room was cold--even on the top floor so apparently she had no heat on yet.

In general, the owner was rude and could care less about her tenants. She only has customer service skills appropriate for a rent-by-the-hour motel. I would never recommend this place!!!!

good deal, great location. my family got rooms here not long ago when they came to town and were perfectly satisfied. the location is great and the rates are very reasonable. its very rustic and old fashioned but there is ac in every room and cable tv. would recommend to anyone who wants a nice affordable modest place to stay. its an old brownstone and has all original details. very quaint.

No service at all.... Innkeeper never introduced herself, and it went downhill from there. While willing to take my rent for five days and two rooms, she never extended any hospitality to my family. Breakfast choices were few or stale, and not family friendly. Inkeeper was difficult or impossible to find. I would never stay here again...never.

For guests avoiding the hubbub: A homey brownstone in the heart of Carroll Gardens.. In Short
Each accommodation is classified by color--the Blue Room, the Gold Room, the White Room, the Green Room, the Lilac Room, and the Rose Room. The first two have full-sized beds and large closets, with the Blue Room boasting a Manhattan view; the Gold Room, a marble fireplace. The smaller White Room and Lilac Room, each with a single bed, are geared toward individuals, while the Green and Rose Rooms can hold up to four guests. All guests get cable television and a continental breakfast. A Victorian-style bathroom, an elegant parlor and a private garden round out the amenities.
