Happily Hip – I go to this place all the time, because it's a quality cut for rather cheap. The stylists there are all about trendy looks and being creative, so you don't ever need to worry about looking like a soccer-mom when you leave. They really pay attention to detail and take their time with each client rather than churning out the same-old look factory-style. The other great thing is that no one chats your ear off unless you engage them in conversation. To boot, the place is very "local" feeling- the last time I went I met the owner of one of my favorite local restaurants, played with one of my neighbors kids, and even snuggled up with one of the dogs that's always lounging about the place.
Hello Medusa – I was referred to this place by a hair afficionado but I was really dissapointed with the cut i received. I told my stylist that I wanted a trendy/edgy cut that I could wear to the office and her immediate response was 'conventional' which really pissed me off. How many times does a stylist hear 'you have free reign over my hair'? i'm assuming not many and I was really surprised and utterly dissapointed with my cut. I basically received a hair mullet!! In addition i paid $65 for this - what a rip-off. I was unable to style my hair and had to go to a different salon in order for them to fix the damage. I really do not recommend this place. So consumer beware . . . these stylists don't know how to listen to their clients & they need to go back to beauty school.
Nightmare haircut! – I went in hoping to come out beautiful but came out with a not so beautiful haircut. I asked stylist Amy for certain haicut and came out with one of her own creations. I lost way more length than I wanted to and my haircut was uneven and overtexturized. It ended up looking worse than when I went in. Now I am forced to wait for it to grow out in order to hopefully get it back into a decent shape. I really regret the haicut and wouldn't want this hair tragedy to happen to anyone else. Beware!

Ever wish you had a kooky girlfriend who did hair? If you did, she'd work at the girly, happily trashy Hello Beautiful, where she'd snip bangs and dish gossip surrounded by hot pink walls, movie star-style vanities, and a leopard print couch (with red heart-shaped pillows, natch). Located inside the Williamsburg Mini Mall, Hello Beautiful welcomes walk-ins and risk-takers--most customers opt for of-the-moment 'dos and wild colors.
Women's cuts are a reasonable $45, while men pay just $35. Color is $60 and up and highlights start at $50. More offbeat? Request dreads, cornrows, extensions or even wigs (in both natural and Easter egg colors). You'll also find body glitter, funky jewelry and a few raunchy clothing items for sale.
love this place... – I can't say enough about Rebecca and her salon. Everytime I leave I feel like a pretty princess...what more needs to be said? The service is fabulous. Cuts and color are great, and prices are more than reasonable.
Good service, mediocre results – This salon was pretty good. It's a friendly atmosphere, even if the stylists don't seem too interested in talking to their customers. The girl who did my hair (the owner, I think), was very thorough in figuring out what I wanted which is good, even if it didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it. The haircut was great, but the color was a little problematic... she left it in too long, so my roots turned out a different color than the rest of my hair (which already had been color-treated). She was nice, though, about giving me a discount and offering to fix the color for only the cost of the products.
Fun, hip, and cheap! – I have naturally curly hair and am really picky about my cuts. Was looking for something hip and fun, which most stylists have difficulty doing with curly hair. Not so at Hello Beautiful. This was definitely the best haircut I've gotten in quite a while.
