Editorial Review for Kili – by Lisa Marie Rovito

The Scene
It doesn't have to be snowing out for you to enjoy the apres-ski atmosphere of one of Brooklyn's few fireplace bars. Exposed brick and wooden beams, a hoop chandelier and squishy red banquettes make for cozy environs. Seats by the sleek hearth get scooted aside each time the flames are stoked, but the glow reaches every nook in the room.

The Draw
No hot drinks are served, so make do with an icy Hoegaarden from the tap. Funky beats from the '70s archives are played at a respectable volume for meeting and greeting all those other 20- to 30-somethings. The neighborhood had been screaming for a young, hip hangout, and it got one--with an atmosphere much hotter than expected.

went last time for the first time and am here posting to praise. vibe is perfect -- very much like 18th street lounge in DC in the downtempo/chill way. warm atmosphere, quick service, cool bartenders. dj was playing music that was perfect for the space and really set the mood. great for a group or for dates i would say. im definitely going back.

Pros: vibe, music, service, crowd

Cons: was there on a friday night and it wasnt packed -- this could be a pro

This is the best bar in Brooklyn. It is has an eclectic, mixed, hip crowd. This is the perfect place to go to hear live music, have drinks, go on a date, or go dancing late at night. The staff is extremely friendly and the fireplace gives off a really warm vibe. On any given night, something different is happening. One night, you might find bands playing, on another night the dj is spinning some great tunes. This bar gives off the feeling of an old dance hall in the days when Manhattan was actually cool. Great drinks, chill vibe, interesting people. A rare find.
