“The ambience and decor aren't impressive, the food is good but nothing spectacular, and the prices are on par with other NY restaurants serving this type of food.”
“Following I indulged in their bread pudding which was ok, a little dry but the ice cream with it brought the dish together for a wonderful desert which I enjoyed with their Grahams 10yr Tawny and a shot of espresso.”
“the bar scene is a bit annoying-show-offy, but the dining room is fab, the menu delicious and the service sets a new standard for Brooklyn (service can be VERY sloppy in this neighborhood).”
“This is home to great seafood (a raw bar too) and homey comfort foods.”
“The staff is very attentive, the menu extensive and the food always first rate.”
“We weren't looking for the best food or service just a decent place for a pregnant woman and her husband.”
“The owner is always there and always friendly which makes this place a place that you want to return to again and again.”
“amazing service”
“think i'm addicted to the oysters, this is absolutley the best restaurant in the Slope a bit pricy but worth every dime!”
“My favorites are: Skate is sliced thin and long w/ shrimp, bacon, potatos, capers to make the perfect bite every time; Lobster is classic and the chef is nice enough to de-shell it when asked; Salmon is savory; Hanger Stake is mouthwatering; Raw Bar is th”
A worthy spinoff of its Soho original, Blue Ribbon Brooklyn can be counted upon for the same great sushi, swanky service, and strong cocktails SoHo boulevardiers have come to rely on all these long years.
Always a premier experience at this terrific Brooklyn upscale restaurant. This is a restaurant that pays attention to the details. Everyone is attentive, the waiters, the managers, the bus persons. They provide great service without being intrusive. The menu is is large and varied , and the kitchen delivers no matter what your order. We've had dinner at Blue Ribbon dozens of times over the years and I cannot recall a bad experience. There are only two downsides to BR: the crowds that appear as if by magic every night, and the somewhat overpriced wine list. But if you want a really fine dinner experience in Park Slope, head thee over to Blue Ribbon. It really doesn't get any better.
better then your favorite nyc restaurant. ?Everything?s better in Brooklyn? or so the Brooklynites say and on this occasion they are spot on. This is no diamond in the ruff. Park Slope is the quintessential modern day city hiding in the shadow of its older brother. Fifth Ave otherwise known, as Restaurant Row is a culinary hot spot with many the outstanding locales offering a wide array of fabulous meals with the sophistication of the big city but the welcoming of your neighborhood haunts with Blue Ribbon winning the prize. I first fell in love with it?s older, smaller brother in Soho dinning next to the likes of Robert DeNiro (no joke) after a very very long wait at a neighboring Spring Street bar. Here in BRB the bar is longer and the wait is shorter because of the much larger dinning room. Don?t get me wrong you may still have to join in a toast of champers at the bar since they only take reservations for parties of five or more but it is well worth it. Everyone is Robert DeNiro here. The management and staff are by far the most attentive, friendly, knowledgeable group to come across in a while. I eat here at least two if not three times a month. There has been occasion that I?ve even dinned here three times in one week! Its clear I eat out often and cook much less therefore when I tell you the food here is impeccable, by any standards, heed my warning and head out there tonight. Every meal has its own agenda of teasing your pallet and leaving you wanting for more. I?ve eating nearly every meal here with not a bad thing to say about one. My favorites are: Skate is sliced thin and long w/ shrimp, bacon, potatos, capers to make the perfect bite every time; Lobster is classic and the chef is nice enough to de-shell it when asked; Salmon is savory; Hanger Stake is mouthwatering; Raw Bar is the best in town and the presentation and eagerness to please make this outing a memorable one. Go now but don?t tell to many people. Keep it our little secret.
Beef Marrow Delight. It happened to be a Friday night when we visited this eatery in Park Slope specifically to feed a craving for beef marrow with oxtail sauce. We didn't have reservations but were lucky enough to be offered a seat at a table just after ordering our first drink at the bar. Originally the wait was anticipated at 20min. We order the oysters to start including a one selection from the East Coast and one from the West Coast. The serving was fresh and light on this steamy August night. Of course we had the beef marrow to share between the two of us which was really DELICIOUS. We ended up splitting the hanger steak with mushrooms since the appetizers were robust and satisfying. The service was extremely attentive, the crowd eclectic, ambiance bustling (even a tad bit loud since the room was fully occupied but not packed). If you can get here to have a special dinner, go. You won't be disappointed. My mind is still lingers on the delights of last night.
DEFINATELY NOT THE BEST SUSHI IN BROOKLYN. I heard this place was the best sushi in Brooklyn, but its not. The sushi here is extra salty. I've been here a couple of times and each time, no matter which roll i order its saltier than it should be. The quality of the sushi is just ok, there are better places in the Slope and much cheaper. Nice decor.
Sophisticated, but not pretentious. My finace and I have been to Blue Ribbon Brooklyn several times - a few of those times were "by accident", when we had planned to go to other neighborhood restaurants and the wait was so long that we just ended up back at our old standby. We've never been disappointed. The food is very good, and there's enough variety on the menu for all (raw oysters or fried chicken? try the tomato soup!). The waiters are courteous and attentive. The prices are admittedly a bit high, but it's a great place to go if you're looking for somewhere special.
bread pudding.... Fantastic food, and the bar and wait staff are delightful. I'm quickly becoming a regular. They're open really late, so it's a perfect last stop of the night for a glass of wine and some bread pudding.
Great Food. Great food best pizza best pasta clean toilets very good service delicous food I love it so much great great great
Not Cheaper than Blue Ribbon New York.
I went to Blue Ribbon Brooklyn after going to BRNYC because City Search gives it $$ instead of $$$. The food is just as expensive if not more expensive and my steak was overcooked and when they brought me a new one it was just a bad cut of meat. However, the lobster was really good and well cooked. The escargot traditionale is not traditionale. It's made with pesto and olive oil instead of butter and garlic so you just end up feeling all greasy and bloated. A lot of the food is really overwhelming because of the heavy grease factor. Sometimes you can eat fried food and it doesn't weigh you down if done right. Not the case here.
Overall, it's not a bad restaurant and the food is more good than bad, but it is not worth the price and the brooklyn location has the ambience of a dance club not the cute little french restaurant with a curtain that BRNYC has.
The Best of Brooklyn.
I love this restaurant! The service is always top-notch, the food is always delicious and the ambiance is inviting. They also serve food until late at night. I have heard this is an "industry" favorite amongst those who work in the service industry and I can see why.
It does tend to get a little noisy in the restaurant though, so if you are with someone who is hard of hearing, be prepared for them to nod in confusion or ask you to repeat yourself a few times.
Great place to take parents and good for groups as well. A+
Worth the Wait.
THis place is the real thing. You may have to wait a little bit (30-45 minutes) on the weekend, but do not worry. When you get your table, you will have forgotten all about it. The Food is amazing, the wait staff is perfect. I went there with ym girlfreind and my parents. Sam the manager, apologized they were so busy, got us a round of drinks on the house, and Armando our waiter was superb. We ordered several appetizers to share (highly reccommended the steak tartare is just perfect) and the meal only got better from there.
Good work. Great restaurant, wonderful dining experience.
