Fun Atmosphere & Good Food. Its a great place to have lunch or dinner outside. Went there for my lunch break with some friends and enjoyed the fun atmosphere. There was good music, good food and happy hour drinks. The food could have arrived faster, but in all it was a very entertaining experience. I will definitely come again when i have more than an hour break.

Brunch to be avoided. We had brunch at Los Pollitos II this Sunday, and I am now recovering from a rather unplesant bout of gastrointestinal unpleasan tness after having a breakfast style burrito. The dinners may be one thing, but at least from our experience, stay away from the brunch.
worst mexican restaurant. this is definitely the worst mexican restaurant in parkslope. my margarita tasted like it came from a margarita mix and dilluted with water. i had to put plenty of salt and black pepper on my food. the service was so slow that i had to ask for salt and pepper twice, margarita-twice, napkins-twice and also had to remind them that we ordered guacamole. when the guacamole was finally served, it had no taste. it was supposed to come with chips, but the chips never came. when they gave us the appetizers we ordered, they took our appetizer plates. we were like "huh?". i will never go back to this restaurant again.

LOS POLLITOS IS A RIP OFF! CHECK THE BILL BEFORE PAYING! DON'T TRUST THEM!.
What is the Mexican term for being taken advantage of? Los Pollitos II is a scam. For about ten years I have been going to Los Pollitos about once a month. It was close and used to be an endearing and cheap neighborhood place with no pretension. Now? Forget it. It has been getting progressively worse in recent years and I have been having quite a few miserable experiences ? mostly service related. But after my most recent visit, last night will be the last time.
Why is that? For a variety of reasons.
The constant nagging to order something you don?t want ?Waiter: Are you sure that you don?t want guacamole? Maybe I will bring it??
Arguing with you to order a larger serving of something you do not need or want. ?No, we said a small pitcher of margaritas. We really don?t want a large pitcher (for the third time).?
But this is the big reason: They charge a 20% gratuity (unannounced) added on a bill for PARTY OF TWO AFTER the TAXES. That is a roughly a 30% service charge on the original bill! They total the bill, add tax and then add twenty percent on top of that. How unethical. What are we, tourists in Times Square? We are a quiet couple from the neighborhood! So now we are tipping on the tax. So, we entered ?already included? on the tip line on the card receipt and signed of on the total. IT GETS WORSE! They then added another 20% to the credit card!! They DOUBLED the bill with service charges!! For two people! What would they do for a party?
What is with that? A 30% service charge! Years ago, one could go into Los Pollitos II and order a taco and they would treat you well. Now, if you are not ordering a huge amount of food, the treat you with a complete disregard. And if you do order substantially, they gouge you!
So some advice: BEWARE! CHECK THE BILL BEFORE PAYING AT Los Pollitos II!! DO NOT USE YOUR CREDIT CARD!!
Don't trust the waiter. Normally I don't mind these kinds of things but... We stopped by this place on a Sunday for drinks and food. We came in because a sign out front said "Happy Hour $4.75 Margaritas." We went in and asked if it was happy hour with $4.75 drinks, the waiter said yes of course. So we sat down and ordered drinks and an appetizer. The margaritas were good. The nachos were small but edible. We asked for chips and received a very small basket and about two ounces of salsa at a cost of $2.65 with no refills. We had planed on staying for dinner and ordering another round of drinks but luckily we decided to leave. We asked for the check and of course the drinks were not happy hour prices, $13 for two instead of $9.50. We asked the waiter to fix it and he took the check back. Another waiter came over and explained to us that they had taken the chips off and that they did not have happy hour and that the sign was merely to bring people into the restaurant. Normally I don't mind this type of thing and I will just pay the extra cost. However, we specifically asked before being seated about the drinks only to have them turn around and tell us that the sign was not correct and that it is out there only to bring in people. The waiter even went so far as to say "you know how it is, you understand right?" We could not believe that he was actually saying that it was obvious that the sign was a lie, we were dumb for relying on the sign and their statement, and that they were doing us a favor for giving us the terrible chips for free. We just paid the check and left so that we did not have to deal with them anymore. We will never go back.
