The Scene – Few Slope bars attract the variety of clientele that this explorable, multi-level lounge does. Upstairs, chatty regulars crowd the smallish bar debating neighborhood politics or what CD to play next. Downstairs, in the louder basement lounge--with a separate bar and streetwise soundtrack--groups check each other out. And out back, in a spacious garden accessible from both floors, candlelit couples are oblivious to both. – – The Draw – With the wide scope of patrons come an array of offerings, such as karaoke Thursdays and poetry readings the first Tuesday…
Slow service
by yukster11
Came here on a Saturday Night. Main level seemed a bit slow, downstairs was packed due to a party. Seems to draw a crowd of young 20 somethings. The jukebox has a good variety. There were TV's upstairs and downstairs that instead of showing sports were showing a movie. The service upstairs was very slow. After waiting at the non-crowded bar for about 10 minutes, the bartender graciously decided to serve me. Too many other options in this area to have to deal with slow service.

great location. great space. friendly bartenders. downstairs is a comfortable lounge area. However, I found it to be homophobic when 2 girls playing pol were giggling immaturely at me and my boyfriend while we were minding our own business. Thought this place would be more metro considering the neighborhood its in. Would still go back on a weekend night though.
- Pros: fair priced drinks
- Cons: homophobic experience

Bar Reis is great. If you want to grab a few inexpensive brews, you can do it here. Great wine? You can get it here. Great mixed drinks and cocktails? Not so much. Other than that, this place is great for low-key conversation with your group or a date spot or chatting it up with neighborhood people. The staff's friendly, especially the owner Reis. Outside is beautiful and there's even a pool table downstairs.
- Pros: Great, inexpensive beer and wine, great space
- Cons: no beers on tap, all of it's bottled
