Nice in theory, but.... Weak, mediocre coffee, but maybe that's what I get for ordering coffee at a place specializing in tea. And don't plan on getting any work/reading done before toddlers start throwing Cheerios at the other end of the couch.

California-style coffee shop by day, cozy wine lounge by night.. The Scene
Place your order at the bar, but hang out for as long as you want on one of the snug mismatched sofas. Warm Moroccan candle lamps and an arrangement of huge black tea jars arranged in a shrine-like pyramid behind the bar finish the decor.

The Draw
Aside from 57 global tea blends ranging from Tibetan Tiger to Chelsea Morning, the Tea Lounge also offers six beers on tap, 15 imported bottled beers and Belgian ales and 15 wine options, which rest in bottles on the counter for customers to sample before they make up their minds. Although caffeine-hating, yoga-loving vegans will surely make Tea Lounge their second home, most of the evening crowd is made up of Park Slope urban intellectuals who enjoy a good wine and beer selection with complimentary nuts.

NICE PLACE/RUDE STAFF. I left my power cords for my laptop and called to see if anyone had turned them in. The staff person was rude, wouldn't check and said she didn't know anything about it. I walked down 5 minutes later and found my cords sitting on the table in plain sight. It ruined this nice place for me. Yes, its overpriced and yes, definitely overcrowded, but it was a nice place to sit and work and this obnoxious counter girl completely ruined it for me.

Not worth it. Over-crowded and over-priced. Rude staff....I mean shockingly rude. I was a repeat customer and used to go there to grade my papers from school on a regular basis....but I guess being a courteous, paying customer doesn't matter when you get in the way of the hipper-than-thou baristas. The drinks are good...but not worth the price (I mean really...what is this a Starbucks??). There are no healthy snacks...I mean would it kill anybody to stock some whole-grain bagels or bran muffins??

Cozy Sunday Evening hangout. I really enjoyed the Tea Lounge; it's a wonderful alternative to over-priced, over-stylized Starbucks down the street. Plus they serve beer, wine, cocktails, soups and delicious giner cookies. This is a great place to go to relax and hang out with a group of friends with diverse drink tastes.

Love it!. I am a Park Slope resident and a regular at the tea lounge. I find the staff to be very pleasant and amiable and they serve (by far) the best and most affordable latte in the area. I've earnestly tried other places but I just adore the tea lounge and can't seem to break away. I can't believe I am posting this, because as a regular I am only making it harder on myself!

best tea/coffee shop in the 5 boroughs. You can sit down, chat, eat, and relax at my favorite- Tea Lounge!

Friends travel from the upper West Side for a spot on the comfy couches.

Hot Tea, casual sipping. My g/f actually took me here on our first date to hang out and talk, get to know each other. Casual sitting, old couches, stools with books and games around to use. Now over a year later, we'll come here for after-dinner coffee and tea.

Clock Watchers. This is more of a morning review, but every day a woman sits on her stool and refuses to open the doors until precisely 7am. Sometimes I get there five minutes early and she'll just wave at me until her time comes. Yet, the same goes for the night....a stuck up attitude veins through what could be a cool place to hang out.

I love this place.. The staff have always been very helpful - ready to explain what's in a tea blend and offer suggestions based on what you're looking for. It can get a little crowded on a weekend afternoon, but on weekdays and nights, it's populated but you can still find a comfortable couch. Truly though, the best feature of Tea Lounge is the fact you can buy $2 of iced tea, and then just sit somewhere for as long as you like - no annoyed looks, no "is there something else I can get you?" - just sit in peace.
