Although caffeine-hating,…

  3. this place has loud music, the food and drinks were okay, not great, cool atmosphere, but the main problem is the staff.
  4. But there are comfortable couches, always space for a seat and a relaxing atmosphere.
  5. I've never been in a place where some young man scolded a group of courteous adults who were trying to enjoy the atmosphere.
  6. It can get a little crowded on a weekend afternoon, but on weekdays and nights, it's populated but you can still find a comfortable couch.
  7. The atmosphere is great.

  1. Weak, mediocre coffee, but maybe that's what I get for ordering coffee at a place specializing in tea.
  2. Additionally, my Chai tea tasted terrible; it was much too weak and void of flavor.
  3. The staff have always been very helpful - ready to explain what's in a tea blend and offer suggestions based on what you're looking for.
  4. Rude staff, mediocre drinks but free Wi-Fi
  5. this place has loud music, the food and drinks were okay, not great, cool atmosphere, but the main problem is the staff.
  6. Also, many patrons are rude in the amount of time and space they use for their I-Junk, when already it's crowded and others would like a place to actually, you know, eat and drink.
  7. The selection of teas is outstanding, the coffee is perfect, the staff is super friendly and helpful, and they are always playing great background music.
  8. The coffee is great.
  9. Probably the worst coffee and tea I've had outside of a diner.
  10. best tea/coffee shop in the 5 boroughs
  11. cozy place, with a nice interior layout makes it inviting, while an attentive staff keeps the drinks comin'.
  12. live in the neighborhood and find that there are only a handful of nice coffee spots to just hang out in.
  13. Their muffins are great but surprisingly, I've always been incredibly let down by the drinks.
  14. However, last week when I went in to order a Chai tea, two of the employees were screaming at each other in front of all of the customers.
  15. If you order a beverage other that standard coffee or tea, you may end up with a specialty drink that is more like bitter water with some foam and fancy cocoa dustings on top.
  16. Plus they serve beer, wine, cocktails, soups and delicious giner cookies.
  17. The drinks are good.
  18. This is a great place to go to relax and hang out with a group of friends with diverse drink tastes.
  19. Cute place, terrible coffee

A Shame really.......

by aladdin0447

this place has loud music, the food and drinks were okay, not great, cool atmosphere, but the main problem is the staff. The counter boy reprimanded my friend for being too loud, however, we couldn't even hear ourselves over the loud music. He explained that he had 'had a fourteen hour day and the loud noises needed to stop'....frankly, we were simply, trying, to enjoy ourselves and make the most out of the loud setting. I've never been in a place where some young man scolded a group of courteous adults who were trying to enjoy the atmosphere. This place has everything going for it and it's ruined by the rudeness of the staff.

  • Pros: great open setting, cool places to sit and video games.
  • Cons: snobby, rude staff

Nestle Quick?!?!?

by LaLaGoGo

Went with my boyfriend here last weekend and ordered a Shot Chocolate, which comes with a shot of espresso. Noticed too late the crate of Nestle Quick sitting on the side of the bar. When I tasted my drink, sure enough that's what they used in my order, and my boyfriend confirmed it. I paid $4 and change for that? What kind of tea/coffee place DOES that?

Also, many patrons are rude in the amount of time and space they use for their I-Junk, when already it's crowded and others would like a place to actually, you know, eat and drink.

Never going back. Plenty of better places in this neighborhood.

  • Pros: Drinks for adults (wine) AND kids (Nestle Quick)
  • Cons: Poor quality drinks, no space during busy times

My Favorite of the Tea Lounge's, Perfect After a Walk Through Prospect Park

by WishIWasStewart

The title says it all!! This spot s my favorite place to go after visiting Prospect Park. A cozy place, with a nice interior layout makes it inviting, while an attentive staff keeps the drinks comin'. They always remember my drink of choice too, (No I'm not one for a double mocha-latte frappuccino with a shot of hazelnut) Hot coffee and cream. Simple, but effective. I love it here, and the friendly baristas always have a smile!
