The Scene – Place your order at the bar, but hang out for as long as you want on one of the snug mismatched sofas. Warm Moroccan candle lamps and an arrangement of huge black tea jars arranged in a shrine-like pyramid behind the bar finish the decor. – – The Draw – Aside from 57 global tea blends ranging from Tibetan Tiger to Chelsea Morning, the Tea Lounge also offers six beers on tap, 15 imported bottled beers and Belgian ales and 15 wine options, which rest in bottles on the counter for customers to sample before they make up their minds. Although caffeine-hating,…

A Shame really.......

by aladdin0447

this place has loud music, the food and drinks were okay, not great, cool atmosphere, but the main problem is the staff. The counter boy reprimanded my friend for being too loud, however, we couldn't even hear ourselves over the loud music. He explained that he had 'had a fourteen hour day and the loud noises needed to stop'....frankly, we were simply, trying, to enjoy ourselves and make the most out of the loud setting. I've never been in a place where some young man scolded a group of courteous adults who were trying to enjoy the atmosphere. This place has everything going for it and it's ruined by the rudeness of the staff.

  • Pros: great open setting, cool places to sit and video games.
  • Cons: snobby, rude staff

Nestle Quick?!?!?

by LaLaGoGo

Went with my boyfriend here last weekend and ordered a Shot Chocolate, which comes with a shot of espresso. Noticed too late the crate of Nestle Quick sitting on the side of the bar. When I tasted my drink, sure enough that's what they used in my order, and my boyfriend confirmed it. I paid $4 and change for that? What kind of tea/coffee place DOES that?

Also, many patrons are rude in the amount of time and space they use for their I-Junk, when already it's crowded and others would like a place to actually, you know, eat and drink.

Never going back. Plenty of better places in this neighborhood.

  • Pros: Drinks for adults (wine) AND kids (Nestle Quick)
  • Cons: Poor quality drinks, no space during busy times

My Favorite of the Tea Lounge's, Perfect After a Walk Through Prospect Park

by WishIWasStewart

The title says it all!! This spot s my favorite place to go after visiting Prospect Park. A cozy place, with a nice interior layout makes it inviting, while an attentive staff keeps the drinks comin'. They always remember my drink of choice too, (No I'm not one for a double mocha-latte frappuccino with a shot of hazelnut) Hot coffee and cream. Simple, but effective. I love it here, and the friendly baristas always have a smile!
