“recommend this place for anyone who would like to just relax and be in a safe, comfortable place.”
“The other crazy thing is, this is an IRISH bar, owner by an IRISH woman and I have never had a decent GUINNESS poured, EVER.”
“nice place for everyone!”
“Whether your bartender is the dirty washed up queen with the chip on his shoulder or one of attitude-for-no-reason (your a bartender girl, get over it) toting lesbians, Ginger's is sure to offer an evening of dissapointment and smoke asphyxiation for ever”
“The bartenders are very friendly and serve a good drink at a fair price.”
Bad Impression. I went to Gingers on Valentine's Day with a few friends and I had a really good time, so I thought I'd try it again. I figured since we had a good time when the place was really busy, we'd have a better time on a regular night. Next time I went with more friends and oddly enough, the bartender there was rude from the beginning. She seemed to be bothered that a few of us paid separately and did not get the drinks right even though we repeated our order twice. She proceeded to stare one of my friends down from across the bar. After our drink we left and went to another bar in the neighborhood, where apparently it was common to hear about bad experiences at Gingers. I for one will never go there again and would not recommend it to anyone I know.
HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!. If you like being disrespected then I suggest going to Gingers. I'm from Brooklyn and I went there this weekend with some friends from out of town to show them a good time. Within the first 2 minutes at the bar, the bartender gave us major attitute, questioned our drink selection and got our drinks wrong. Then she has the nerve to call us stupid 12yr olds who don't know how to order drinks! Before we left I let her know that she was very rude and unprofessional. Her only response was to call me a little girl, when I'm 30yrs old. Don't waste your time and money there. Go to Excelcior or Rising Cafe where they know the meaning of customer service. Leave Gingers to the locals who feel they have no choice but to deal with rudeness and attitude.
THEY CAN'T POUR GUINNESS AT AN IRISH BAR.
I recently moved from Boston to Park Slope and I must say I am sadly dissapointed in the offerings at Gingers. I must agree with the washedup queenie MALE bartenders at Gingers. Why does a washed up queen with an attitude have to serve me drinks?
In all honesty, this place is dark and smokey and totally overrated. Get some nice looking female bartenders and some more chairs and maybe a DJ one night a week.
The other crazy thing is, this is an IRISH bar, owner by an IRISH woman and I have never had a decent GUINNESS poured, EVER. The bartenders give such a major attitude when you ask them to do it again because half of the glass of foam!!
Ging HERS!!. There is a men's bar across the street that's quite nice (Excelsior)- so why do they have this nasty bartender working at a woman's bar? There are so few places for lesbians- I don't want to be served by some sniffling, rude overage boy! The girls are trying to get down! We need a better sound system and better bartenders!!
dark dingy&stank(the bartenders that is). Whether your bartender is the dirty washed up queen with the chip on his shoulder or one of attitude-for-no-reason (your a bartender girl, get over it) toting lesbians, Ginger's is sure to offer an evening of dissapointment and smoke asphyxiation for everyone. I have never actually had a good time at Ginger's and have been there on numerous occasions. At my most recent visit I was snubbed at the bar for requesting my drink in a martini glass and told that drinks ordered "up" are actually served in tumblers there. Leave your class and your couth at the door ladies and gentlemen, Ginger's likes their women nasty and disgruntled and their men old and bitter.
A nice enough place to drink. Ditto on the previous poster's comment about the attitude around the pool table ... seems like a carryover from the old Rising. Fortunately, the bar up front is welcoming and friendly. Good drinks, nice bartenders.
