The Scene
Dark, loud and adorned with arty objects, this huge industrial space is packed every night. While the three frenetic kitchens seem to work according to the motto "serving Williamsburg one plate at a time" (with less-than-enthusiastic servers), all is forgiven when the astonishingly low check comes.
The Food
Most restaurants with more than 250 items on the regular menu don't do any of them particularly well. Neither do most restaurants that try tackling Thai, sushi and hibachi. But with a bite of tangy tamarind-fried squid, and a sip of steaming miso, you'll find Planet Thailand a welcome exception to both of these rules. Consistently satisfying versions of Thai staples like pad Thai and curry dishes arrive in generous portions. The sushi is fresh and basic, but other Japanese dishes, like wasabi shumai and seafood udon, fill the creative gap.

This beautiful, loft-like space with interesting art houses some of the yummiest Thai & Japanese in Brooklyn. Don't miss the noodle dishes and the sushi (especially the tuna)! The steamed mussels as an appetizer were a big hit.

Better than standard Thai fare (and really good sushi). Ate there on Saturday night, had no wait for a table. But once we got to our table we had to wait over 30 minutes for a waiter to appear to take our drink order - after we kept asking for our waiting for the past 20 minutes. Once they took our order though everything came our pretty quick, and the food was great.

This is the second time in three years that Planet Thailand had to close its doors dure to health code violation. You would think they learned their lesson the first time.
