Overview
Built atop Brooklyn's highest point, this charming little park offers a stunning view of the neighborhood's old stone co-ops and church spires, Manhattan's downtown skyline, the Statue of Liberty, New Jersey and Staten Island. Sloping down from residential Seventh Avenue to bustling, commercial Fifth Avenue, the park underwent some renovations from 2001-2002, which resulted in repaved paths and stairs and new tree plantings.
Features
Not only does Sunset Park boast a commanding view, the village green is also home to one of the city's best public swimming pools--an Olympic-sized outdoor model able to handle the summer crowds. The park's recreational facilities also include two outdoor basketball courts, handball courts, a playground for young children, a gym, a dance room and a game room.
