pity - it could be a good place. Just had a Sunday brunch at TJ Hanley's. The outside patio was spacious and pleasant and the omlettes were delicious... when they finally came. L-o-n-g wait even though the place was not crowded. We like bread with our eggs, but for some reason, this was a big problem. Not a terrible brunch , but certainly not worth the aggravation.
TWO DOLLAR Pork slaps. When butternuts brewery sells their twelve pack of cans over twenty dollars and this joint has them for a good two dollars. The is grade a in my book, just wish it was closer to. Definitely a steal when two dollar pork slaps are on the menu
Fun local pub!.
I have been coming to this bar for years, it really has only got better and better! The beer garden is awesome in the summer! I feel badly that some ex-staff have polluted this pub's citysearch page with bogus reviews. I love this place, it's my hideaway from Manhattan folk after a tough week at work.
Best mini-cheeseburgers and wings ever!
Nice staff, poor management. I was warned that things were getting bad there, but I have such good memories! Been there twice recently but won't go back. I remember this place years ago (I'm a neighborhood girl) when Kim and Debbie ran it. I miss those guys. My family used to come for brunch, and they were the best. We won't return because the place is not the same. The sleazy manager is the WORST! Ladies, beware. This guy Ruben spends more time flirting with groups of girls and hanging around whether he's been invited to join or not. The last time we stopped in for girls night out after an amazing dinner at Frankie's 457 up the block. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to get a free shot, but is it too much to ask for professional management these days? We watched in amazement as he yelled at his staff, who were very nice to us. He yelled at the waitress for getting an order wrong, I think, and then smiles and winks at us. Ugh. Instead of yelling, why not jump in to help? Later Ruben comes over uninvited, and takes a seat at our table. Wewere polite, and he did buy us a free round of Jameson whiskey, but he wouldn't leave. It's not like we didn't want to be social, we would have been happy to talk to a few cute boys but he was just...not...leaving. What, you never had the manager of a bar buy you drinks before, he asks us. Apparently we were supposed to be impressed because he was manager, which seemed to require the ability to change channels on big-screen TVs, flirt with customers, and chomp on a cookie from the kitchen while walking around. Finally he got the message and left, but so did the service! We ordered drinks but they never came. After 15 minutes we asked “manager” Ruben about our forgotten drinks. “They'll get to it” he says. It's incredible that an owner would want someone like that running their place. I would be mortified if I had a guy like that working for me. I feel sorry for the people who have to work there.
horrible. this place is full of cheaters and low lives bad service!! bad food!! bad crowd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! never ever go!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree--bad management!. My friends and I came in for drinks and food on a Friday night. Our waitress was new (1st day), had too many tables to wait and our order was misplaced. Long story short, after waiting 45 minutes and watching plate after plate of food being delivered to the patrons around us, I went to the manager. I was given a very flip "sorry," blaming the waitress (what kind of manager blames his staff?!!). Another 20 minutes goes by and clearly our food was forgotten. Again. Back to the manager who says, and I quote, "I said I was sorry, what else do you want?" Delivered with an irritated attitude! He stomps off to the kitchen saying it will be ten more minutes. We wait ten, fifteen more minutes and as I'm getting up to find him he approaches with our food in hand. As he sees I am coming to look for him again, he says, "do you want it or not? You don't have to take it, I'll take it back to the kitchen." All delivered with that fine attitude of his. He did comp us for the entire meal, but never had the b***s to come back to our table like a professional. We will never go back and that is really too bad because it's a great neighborhood place. P.S. We left a good tip for that poor waitress. Hope she finds a better job!
great place 5 yrs ago. the place was great all neighborhood guys ut then these yuppy cok suckers came into the neighorhood and made it a fagg bar
Forget if if you don't want to eat meat!. Vegetarians look elsewhere the only thing they have for you is a pasta on one day a week and a mac and cheese that is basically glue.
Beer and food and cable.. I wondered what happened to MJ. I guess that's why one of the tenants have that banner on the third floor of the bar with her initials on it. I miss that girl.
just sayin'. ruben goes best with pastrami and extra cheese long live MJ. how is that for 100 characters biatch?
