Second Post: Tom a barback was hurt at PJ's and that stupid Ruben screams at him because he won't come into work before his doctor releases him. Keg of beer fell on his foot, not taken care of gangreen would set in. For goodness sake, his foot was crushed! This man wanted him to work before the doctor released him then causes a scene at the bar... Hey Jimmy... Get rid of Ruben. I was there again in late June and although I never met Tom, the staff sure said they missed him. First Post: I was there in late May with a group of girlfriends. . I must say, I do not know who the owner of PJ’s is but I sure hope the manager Ruben is not!! The owner should send in some spies and see this Ruben in action for him (her) self. This guy Ruben is the biggest sleaze ball I have ever met. He speaks with such disrespect of his staff I could not believe it. He seems to think that bartenders (girl on duty) is the way to go. He walks around like a rooster in a hen house, stares at his female staff in a very inappropriate way. Just because a guy has Manager in his title does not give him the right to be so disrespectful. Passing comments about his wait staff and female bartenders bodies is disgusting, he had no idea who we were but the way he talked to us about his staff was awful. . I was told this place was a good place but I must say we will not be going there any time in the near future. We (6 women) were very uncomfortable near this man.

I was warned that things were getting bad there, but I have such good memories! Been there twice recently but won't go back. I remember this place years ago (I'm a neighborhood girl) when Kim and Debbie ran it. I miss those guys. My family used to come for brunch, and they were the best. We won't return because the place is not the same. The sleazy manager is the WORST! Ladies, beware. This guy Ruben spends more time flirting with groups of girls and hanging around whether he's been invited to join or not. The last time we stopped in for girls night out after an amazing dinner at Frankie's 457 up the block. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to get a free shot, but is it too much to ask for professional management these days? We watched in amazement as he yelled at his staff, who were very nice to us. He yelled at the waitress for getting an order wrong, I think, and then smiles and winks at us. Ugh. Instead of yelling, why not jump in to help? Later Ruben comes over uninvited, and takes a seat at our table. Wewere polite, and he did buy us a free round of Jameson whiskey, but he wouldn't leave. It's not like we didn't want to be social, we would have been happy to talk to a few cute boys but he was just...not...leaving. What, you never had the manager of a bar buy you drinks before, he asks us. Apparently we were supposed to be impressed because he was manager, which seemed to require the ability to change channels on big-screen TVs, flirt with customers, and chomp on a cookie from the kitchen while walking around. Finally he got the message and left, but so did the service! We ordered drinks but they never came. After 15 minutes we asked “manager” Ruben about our forgotten drinks. “They'll get to it” he says. It's incredible that an owner would want someone like that running their place. I would be mortified if I had a guy like that working for me. I feel sorry for the people who have to work there.
