Modeled after the 16th-century Sansovino's Library of St. Mark in Venice, this 1905 Beaux Arts structure resonates with Italianate charm. Housed inside, under Gustavino tiles and terra-cotta archways, are a small art gallery, a gift shop, an information center and a cafe. Up the winding staircase, the second-floor resource library has field guides for budding botanists, hard-core ecologists and the Brooklyn Bird Club members who meet here regularly.
